Opened in Summer 2017, the 4-star Hipotels Gran Playa de Palma, brings more choice for golfers looking to stay in the lively resort of Playa de Palma.

Air-conditioned rooms, which are decorated in fudge and vanilla tones, have a full bathroom and offer a flat screen TV, Wi-fi, safety deposit box, balcony or terrace, hairdryer, and mini-bar (some items at additional charge). 

There are two buffet restaurants serving breakfast and dinner, with show-cooking.  Three bars, including a poolside snack bar, and lobby bar (which shows live sport), serve a range of local, international and premium drinks.

There's a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool, surrounded by sunbeds, Balinese beds and parasols, and an indoor freshwater pool with heated whirlpool.

An air-conditioned gym with cardio fitness training equipment and free weights, and a Spa,  with sauna, steam room and Turkish bath, complete the facilities at this hotel.

Our Comments:

Playa de Palma is popular with young German travellers who enjoy the lively nightlife that this resort offers.  However, outside of the peak holiday seasons, I.e., in May & October, the surrounding areas are relatively quiet, and the hotel is a cost-effective choice for those golfers wanting to be located in close proximity to the courses North and West of Palma.

As the resort caters mainly to German travellers, you'll be unlikely to find a bar showing UK sports, but if golf and relaxation are your key priorities, then the Hipotel Gran Playa de Palma would be a good choice.  Portixol and Palma with their superb choice of bars and restaurants are both only a short taxi ride away.

The Hipotel chain has a superb reputation in the North-East of the island, where the majority of their hotels are located, and we're certain that this hotel, in the South of the island, will offer the same quality and high standards.
