Comment: Capdepera retains the same place in the ranking year-on-year. It's a firm favourite for many in the north-east, who enjoy the friendly and relaxed atmosphere and excellent customer service. As with many of the island's courses, the first half of the year sees it in its best condition, before the heat and humidity of the summer take their toll.
Capdepera Golf, designed by the North American architect Dan Maples, was inaugurated in 1989. It is an 18 hole, par-72 course, that consists of a mix of easier holes, in the valley where an old almond plantation used to be, and more challenging holes, that go up into the hills that overlook the course. Due to this contrast, expert golfers, as well as beginners, will find their individual challenge here.
Capdepera Golf stands out for its spacious greens, the charming combination of long, wide fairways with other narrower ones, and its six lakes. The first holes are comparatively flat, with the odd dogleg surrounded by water to make the game more interesting. The last 6, more intricate holes, are hidden among the hills of the Llevant. Particularly attractive is the par-3 15th hole, which has a panoramic view out to the coast, and has been voted the most beautiful hole on the island by the German Mallorca Magazin publication.
The Restaurant Roca Viva, close to the 18th green, serves a variety of Mallorcan dishes as well as other Mediterranean food, mostly made from locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. It is generally recognised as one of the best clubhouses in the area, due to both the quality of its food, and its lovely ambience.
Pro Shop facilities of Capdepera Golf are located on the ground floor of the club house. The Pro Shop offers everything that you need, including reservations, professional golf classes and information on any aspect of the course.
