Comment: Son Vida continues to show a respectable set of scores, with Speed of Play being the main cause for complaint.  The Arabella courses are busy but, if you're not in a rush, this course will offer you a great challenge in scenic surroundings.

Arabella Golf Son Vida is the oldest golf course in Mallorca, but it wasn’t the first to be built. The Hotel Golf Playa de Alcúdia built-in 1934 was Mallorca’s first golf complex, however, the Civil War paralysed the project, until 1964 when Son Vida opened.

In 2001 the famous German architect Kurt Rossknecht redesigned the course increasing its difficulty.  The undulating fairways, and large, well designed contoured greens, offer numerous challenging pin positions and are a good test for golfers of all standards.

A host venue to the Balearic Open on the European Tour in the 1990s – the great Seve Ballesteros won the event in 1990 – the course layout has stood the test of time and continues to attract golfers from all over the world.

There is a feeling of tradition and history as the fairways wind through the prestigious Son Vida estate, but the technical design, speed of the greens, and need for accuracy, create a memorable experience at this 5,597m (6,120 yards) par-72 course.  It is short by modern standards but is remembered by most for its sweeping doglegs.  And, its final signature hole, a stunning  par-5, with a risk-and-reward feature to carry the water, which is the final tempting challenge on this historic course.

Do I Need a Buggy?

Son Vida is a relatively short undulating course that is walkable if fit.  Buggies are allowed on the fairways, weather permitting.
